SNAFU - My Vietnam Vacation - 1969
The photo below was taken in the summer of '69---flower power, bellbottom jeans and Woodstock. These ten children are part of the indigenous Montagnard peoples of Vietnam's Central Highlands. They were, and are now, part of the lower class of the Vietnamese population. Their summer of '69 consisted of extended bellies, filthy clothes, and the daily fears associated with a war without borders. Look into their eyes. That's all you need to do---look into their eyes.
UPDATE: In 2015 I was informed that I was exposed to Agent Orange when I was Vietnam. I have four "issues" on my plate right now. All are being managed nicely. I'm not out of the woods yet, but I plan on being around for awhile longer. Dioxin has a half life of 700 years, which means that in 650 more years I'll be back to normal and good to go.
